Excerpt from the Introduction:
The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless. Jean-Jacques Rousseau
We nurture our travel aspirations from childhood. Mysterious and enchanting faraway places capture
our essence, create our longings. The templates of our travels rest deep in our needs, in our
desires, in our soul. Somewhere unknown, as yet unseen, undiscovered. Geography unexplored,
cultures unexperienced. The allure of There.
We journey in our head and in our heart. Our imagination fills in the missing pieces of
information to complete our mind's voyage. We daydream, mental passports in hand, wandering off to
magical places with magical names.
The Serengeti, Tibet, the Amazon. The Grand Canyon, Machu Pichu, Hollywood. The Galapagos, Angkor Wat, Istanbul. Havana,,the Golden Triangle, Timbuktu.
Notions of beauty, calm, intrigue, romance. A white sandy beach, palm trees and warm, tranquil
air. A peaceful rock garden in Kyoto. The hill tribes in Chang Mai. A cozy Parisian cafe. Images
and fantasies stirring and growing, awaiting the light of real encounter.
Have we remained true to our travel dreams? Have we explored the furthest reaches of our
traveler's soul?
